About the position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Frontend Developer to join our team in McLean, VA. This role is pivotal in transforming how our line of business constructs customer-facing websites by building and launching a core micro frontend-based site. As a Frontend Developer, you will collaborate with a team of developers to create professional-grade front-end SDKs using JavaScript and TypeScript, along with comprehensive documentation to empower product teams in developing their own front-end modules that seamlessly integrate into the main site. In this position, you will be an advocate for excellence, consistently raising the bar on user experience, technical sophistication, agile development, comprehensive testing, automation, and documentation in front-end development. You will ensure that high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency are maintained, while also ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and internationalization support. Additionally, you will assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting, sharing your passion for staying updated on tech trends, experimenting with new technologies, and mentoring fellow engineering community members. Your role will involve utilizing programming languages such as JavaScript (including frameworks like Angular, React, and Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript, and Java, as well as open-source frameworks and RESTful web services. You will also work on cross-browser and cross-device development, ensuring a seamless user experience across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of developers to change the way the line of business builds customer-facing websites, building and launching a core micro frontend-based site.
• Build professional-grade front-end SDKs in JavaScript/TypeScript and supporting documentation for product teams.
• Advocate for excellence in user experience, technical sophistication, agile development, comprehensive testing, automation, and documentation in front-end development.
• Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency, compliance with accessibility standards, and internationalization support.
• Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting.
• Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript, and Java, along with open-source frameworks and RESTful web services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
• 3+ years of experience with web UI frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue).
• 2+ years of experience with front-end testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Selenium).
• 2+ years' experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, React, Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, or Java.
• 3+ years of experience in full-stack development.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tool sets.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
