The Frontend Engineer & UX/UI Designer role at AWS focuses on helping U.S. Federal agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions. The role involves direct customer interaction to understand their needs and develop user-friendly interfaces, while also collaborating with a team to deliver effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy user interfaces with integrations to backend services.
- Interface with customers to understand their vision and capture requirements for applications.
- Iterate on the design and functions of user interfaces based on customer feedback.
- Support the development of user interfaces by writing custom scripts and integrating with backend components.
- Test applications and present them to broader audiences.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a user experience (UX) designer, product designer, interaction designer (UI), information architect, or similar role.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience using tools like Figma, Sketch, etc., to design and create interactive mock-ups/wireframes of user interfaces.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience and technical expertise in cloud computing technologies.
- Experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale.
- 4+ years of experience building infrastructure to host and serve applications at scale.
- 2+ years of experience building backend infrastructure that integrates with the frontend.
- Strong design skills and ability to create visually appealing user interfaces.
- Experience building interfaces that meet accessibility standards including Section 508 compliance.
- Experience building interfaces compatible with eReaders for the visually impaired.
