About the position

Join a mission-driven non-profit as a frontend software engineer working on a survey authoring and data collection platform. Collaborate with a small team to build new features using React, GraphQL, and Python/PostgreSQL, contributing to helping millions of coffee farmers out of poverty.

Responsibilities

• Build new features in the Jebena survey authoring system.
• Manage several small codebases for internal tools.
• Create responsive UIs from rough product specs and UI sketches.
• Collaborate with other engineers to create API calls for backend communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience writing software in teams.
• Deep knowledge of modern Javascript and React.
• Experience with GraphQL/Apollo is a nice-to-have.
• Confidence styling with CSS and implementing faithfully-styled components from visual specifications.
• History of working on small, nimble teams with best practices (GitHub, Pull Requests, code reviews).
• Basic comfort with the command line (terminal/bash) for running development setups.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GraphQL/Apollo.
