The Frozen Foods Clerk is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the department, rotating and replenishing merchandise, and checking the temperatures of cases to ensure correctness and consistency. This position requires a strong focus on customer interaction, as the clerk will greet customers with a smile, assist them in locating products, and handle customer inquiries with care and professionalism. The Frozen Foods Clerk must work collaboratively with co-workers to create a pleasant shopping environment and ensure customer satisfaction. This includes tasks such as unloading trucks, checking in products, organizing storage areas, and maintaining the cleanliness of the department. The clerk is also responsible for building end cap displays and ensuring that merchandise is displayed neatly and labels are visible. Adherence to company policies and guidelines is crucial, as is the ability to report to work on time and as scheduled. In addition to primary responsibilities, the Frozen Foods Clerk may also assist with ordering products and supplies, inventory management, and pricing products as necessary. This role is essential in creating a positive shopping experience for customers and requires a proactive approach to customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading or unloading heavy items.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to customers who call, including taking customer orders.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise to meet quality standards.
• Ensures cleanliness in the department, including cleaning cases and sweeping floors.
• Maintains organized storage areas and ensures the floor is not slippery.
• Builds end cap displays and fills these areas as necessary.
• Unloads trucks, checks in products, and reviews invoices as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; and guide people with basic direction.
• No formal education requirement, but six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.
