About the position

The Frozen Food Clerk is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and stock of frozen food cases in the store while providing excellent customer service. This part-time position requires adherence to procedural guidelines and involves various tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness of frozen cases, storage area, and work area for safety.
• Stocks frozen cases, including product presentation, facing, filling, and organization as per department schematics.
• Examines the rotation of frozen products, discarding expired or spoiled items.
• Responds positively to customer inquiries and assists with purchases and product selection.
• Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
• Monitors point of purchase signs and ensures availability of promotional materials.
• Operates equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Maintains a high level of product knowledge and preparation.
• Regularly walks the department to ensure a clean and organized appearance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Preferred 1 - 2 years grocery retail experience in Frozen department processes and procedures.
• Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Ability to support and contribute to team goals.
• Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
