About The Position

The Frozen Food Supervisor is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while managing the Frozen Foods department. This role involves achieving sales and profit goals, maintaining quality assurance standards, and supervising daily operations. The supervisor will also train and develop associates, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain inventory levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Frozen food experience preferred.
  • Retail experience required.
  • Previous inventory management experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage people and maintain composure in customer interactions.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices.
  • Strong business and financial knowledge.
  • Ability to identify needs, problems, and opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail management.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements.
  • Familiarity with emergency plans for natural disasters or serious accidents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions and activities for the department.
  • Support day-to-day operations of the Frozen Foods department.
  • Communicate company and department information to associates.
  • Establish performance goals and empower associates to meet targets.
  • Develop scheduling to manage customer volume.
  • Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer product questions.
  • Inform customers of frozen food specials and promotions.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for sales and merchandising.
  • Assist in preparing the store/department budget and profit/loss reviews.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions.
  • Schedule price changes and update promotional signs.
  • Train associates on inventory management and ordering processes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
  • Reinforce safety programs and report safety risks or issues.
