About the position

As a Senior Network Engineer at V2X, you will serve as a senior technical advisor to the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) and Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) staff N6. Your primary responsibility will be to support the ship and staff during the installation, testing, and problem isolation of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems. You will provide end-to-end technical support for C4ISR, RF (Radio Frequency), and IT systems, assisting the CSG/ESG (Expeditionary Strike Group) and other staff with technology insertions that enhance speed-to-capability. Additionally, you will be expected to provide feedback to COMNAVWAR (Commander, Naval Warfare Systems Command), PEO C4I (Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, and PEO EIS (Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems) regarding system performance, design, and logistics issues. In this role, you will work closely with shipboard technicians, ship and staff officers, In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA), Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC), installation engineers, and Fleet Readiness Directorate staff to ensure the required end-to-end connectivity to satisfy fleet C4ISR requirements. You will document issues and their resolutions using INTELSHARE FSET Status Reports and after-action reports, providing necessary reports to the Fleet Readiness Directorate as directed. Furthermore, you will provide on-the-job training (OJT) on systems for both shipboard and shore technicians, and may be required to mentor civilian and government technicians. You will assist shipboard technicians in preparing systems for inspections and support System Operation and Verification Testing (SOVT). The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a high operations tempo environment and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including shipboard deployments lasting 8-12 weeks and overseas travel. Premium pay will be provided for underway periods, and work outside of normal hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with shipboard technicians, ship and staff officers, ISEA, RMC, installation engineers, and Fleet Readiness Directorate staff to ensure end-to-end connectivity for fleet C4ISR requirements.
  • Document issues and resolutions using INTELSHARE FSET Status Reports and after-action reports, providing reports to Fleet Readiness Directorate as directed.
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) on systems for shipboard and shore technicians, and mentor civilian/government technicians as needed.
  • Assist shipboard technicians in preparing systems for inspections and support System Operation and Verification Testing (SOVT).
  • Work independently in a high operations tempo environment and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including shipboard deployments and overseas travel.

Requirements

  • BS in Information Technology or equivalent technical degree, or 8+ years of technical experience in a related discipline required.
  • 6+ years of experience with DoD enterprise or Navy networks; fleet experience highly desired.
  • 6+ years of experience in troubleshooting networks and operating system issues across multiple systems.
  • IAT2 certifications required for IA (Security+ CE or equivalent) required; IAT2 for OS highly desired.
  • Windows Server, CISCO, and VMWare training/certifications highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Navy C4I Systems and their operation and configuration.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and SOPs.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, especially with senior Navy officials and technical personnel.
