About the position

The Principal - Payments Modernization Program Manager at Infosys Consulting's Financial Services Practice is responsible for leading strategic programs focused on electronic payments and modernization initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of payment systems, particularly ISO 20022 standards, and involves managing complex projects while building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of ISO 20022 message standards.
  • Hands-on exposure to CBPR and FEDNOW/FEDWIRE demands for ISO 20022 through at least one full program completed and delivered.
  • Develop data solutions for payments monetization, data quality, and lineage.
  • Implement RTP through products like FINASTRA and FISERV.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, processes, and develop data maps for technology transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology transformation programs.
  • Manage end-to-end project execution and stakeholder communication, minimizing engagement risk.
  • Support business development activities, including leading proposals and developing market propositions.
  • Develop market-relevant points of view to sustain presence in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years of management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm.
  • Good knowledge of end-to-end value chain and architecture in the payments space.
  • Experience in B2B Payments, Disbursements, Card Payments, Consumer/Retail Payments across various processes.
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 20022, electronic payments (Wires, ACH, Immediate Payments) in multiple geographies.
  • Experience with market-leading Payment Hub products and Card Processors.
  • Experience in bank-level payments modernization programs and managing large complex technology programs.
  • Knowledge of Fed WIRES, Canada Lynx, and SWIFT cross-border payment solutions.
  • Experience in Engineering services, DevSecOps implementation management, and Testing services management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications from the Bank of International Settlements/FED or other recognized institutes.
  • MBA or economics major at the graduate level.
  • 3-5 years of experience in change initiatives in Banking or Payment Services firms.
  • Exposure to Real-time payments TCH RTP and FEDNOW.
  • Knowledge of liquidity management (Nostro/Vostro) accounts and solutions.
  • Experience executing programs using Agile methodologies.
  • Prior experience with market-leading Payment Hub products, Payment Processors, and Card Processors.
