About the position

The FSO Technician role is a contract position based in Chattanooga, TN, focused on providing on-site technical support for end-user computing equipment and services. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of various IT devices, ensuring high-quality execution of IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Dispose) tasks while adhering to safety protocols and documentation standards. This position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work flexible hours, including on-call support during off-office hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-call support during off-office hours for P1/P2 tickets and scheduled activities.
  • Travel to nearby sites as needed for support.
  • Disconnect/reconnect computer workstations, peripherals, and phone equipment.
  • Imaging and reimaging Windows operating systems for desktops and laptops.
  • Safely move equipment using wheeled carts and vehicles.
  • Manage IMACD tasks including installations, moves, adds, changes, and disposals of IT equipment.
  • Coordinate and schedule IMACD activities with IT functions and third parties.
  • Document processes for IMAC execution and obtain customer approval for changes.
  • Validate IMAC requests for correctness and proper authorization.
  • Communicate with authorized users regarding IMACD service requests and resolve issues as needed.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine IMAC requirements and confirm availability of necessary resources.
  • Schedule and dispatch technicians for IMAC locations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and strengthen client relationships.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform on-call support during off-office hours.
  • Hands-on experience with imaging Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with IMACD and asset inventory tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for various IT devices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • Experience with remote desktop connectivity applications.
  • Strong customer service skills and client-side support experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Apple OS X.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with hard drive encryption software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Exchange configuration issues.
