About the position

The FSPH EDI Office Administrator plays a critical role at the Fielding School of Public Health in advancing equitable representation, fostering a diverse community, and promoting an inclusive academic environment. This position is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Office, ensuring its effective operation and alignment with the school's strategic goals. The administrator will work closely with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to implement initiatives that support the school's mission of building health and equity through education, discovery, and service. In this role, the administrator will manage multiple projects, coordinate events, and provide support to high-level administrators within the academic setting. The position requires strong organizational skills to prioritize work assignments and attention to detail, especially when faced with pressing deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the administrator will interact with a diverse range of individuals and must maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive matters. Proficiency in digital media management and content development is also required to effectively promote the EDI initiatives and engage the community. The FSPH EDI Office Administrator will be expected to follow precise instructions and initiate appropriate actions with minimal supervision. The role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships within the school and the broader community, ensuring that the EDI Office operates smoothly and effectively contributes to the school's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Overall administration and coordination of the EDI Office.
  • Manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Support high-level administrators in an academic setting.
  • Plan and coordinate details for events related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Develop and manage digital media content for EDI initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in administrative roles, preferably within higher education or related fields focusing on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working in an academic administrative setting, providing support for multiple high-level administrators.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work assignments and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of working effectively in diverse environments.
  • Proficiency in digital media management and content development.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and initiate appropriate actions with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with individuals at all organization levels and the public.
  • Demonstrated experience to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential matters with tact, sensitivity, and discretion.
  • Skill in coordinating the details and knowledge of policy and procedure involved in planning events.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
