About the position

The Affordable Leasing Agent at New Columbia Apartments is a vital role within the Commercial and Residential Management Group (CRMG), responsible for managing the leasing process for a 554-unit affordable housing community located in North Portland. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively conduct property tours, promote positive relations with potential residents, and ensure that all units are maintained in optimal condition for tours and move-ins. The Affordable Leasing Agent will also be tasked with managing resident income certifications in compliance with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the affordable housing initiative. In addition to overseeing resident file setup and compliance, the Affordable Leasing Agent will collaborate closely with Home Forward to ensure timely processing of move-in files. This role is not only about filling vacancies but also about fostering a welcoming community atmosphere and ensuring that residents feel supported throughout their leasing experience. The ideal candidate will embody the core values of CRMG, demonstrating a commitment to service, integrity, and community engagement. This full-time position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a total of 40 contracted hours per week. The Affordable Leasing Agent will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package after 30 days of employment, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life insurance and a flexible spending account. Responsibilities

  • Conduct property tours for prospective residents.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in property management or leasing preferred.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC program regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in using property management software and Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves
