About the position

The position involves overseeing the front-end operations of a retail supermarket, ensuring compliance with company standards, training associates, and maintaining effective communication within the department and store. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and operational efficiency while managing various sales transactions and supporting the overall store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure department associates are properly trained by certified trainers.
  • Maintain solid communication in the department, the store, and throughout the organization.
  • Observe and ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Support and comply with all company safety standards and policies.
  • Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed.
  • Ensure that all sales transactions are handled in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Supervise the effective operation of the office/service desk/kiosk/front end/bottle room.
  • Secure office and front-end cash drawers at all times when unattended.
  • Understand labor and productivity reports, scheduling, and ordering.
  • Follow all Front End department standard practices for efficient operations.
  • Assist in conducting performance appraisals and service observations.
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and follow company appearance policy.
  • Perform cashier and/or bagging functions as needed.
  • Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
  • Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Desire and ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements.
