About the position

The Full-Time Bartender at Kickapoo Casino is responsible for serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to guests while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. This role involves preparing drinks, maintaining the bar's cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service. The bartender must also adhere to legal regulations and manage inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mixed drinks by selecting and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
• Garnish drinks by slicing and pitting fruits; placing on picks or in drinks.
• Prepare beer barrels by connecting hose couplings and connecting barrels to tap.
• Serve beer by filling glasses with beer drawn from tap; retrieving and opening requested-brand bottles.
• Serve wine by opening bottles; decanting; and/or pouring by-the-glass offerings.
• Make change out of issued banks.
• Provide bar snacks by replenishing pretzels, nuts, and special mixes.
• Maintain an attractive bar by arranging bottles and glasses for display; removing soiled glassware and empty bottles and cans; ensuring cleanliness.
• Maintain supplies by ordering, requisitioning, or re-stocking snacks, liquors, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients; replacing beer barrels.
• Prepare trash for disposal.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy bar, and patrons by following and enforcing standards and procedures; judging when guests have consumed too much alcohol; calling for alternate transportation; complying with legal ABLE and health regulations.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; keeping abreast of drink trends; exploring new recipes.
• Enhance the bar's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add to job accomplishments; safeguarding customers.
• Provide friendly and courteous customer service.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum one year bartending experience or two years serving beverages.
• Basic math skills and cash handling skills.
• Very good communication and written skills.
• Ability to work any shifts, start time, weekends, and holidays.
• ABLE Liquor License.
• Documents that establish both Identity and Employment Eligibility.
• Kickapoo Tribal Gaming License.
