About the position
The Caregiver position at Grossmont Gardens Memory Care is focused on providing essential support to residents, particularly those with dementia. This full-time role involves assisting residents with daily living activities and ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. The position requires a compassionate individual who can engage residents in meaningful interactions while upholding their rights and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility.
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activities while providing personal care assistance.
- Respond promptly to all resident needs and/or requests for care, providing or obtaining assistance as necessary.
- Uphold Residents' Rights at all times.
- Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral conditions and report any unusual symptoms or occurrences to a licensed nurse.
- Complete all forms and documentation such as incident reports and behavior tracking in a timely manner.
- Assist in the dining room during resident mealtimes.
- Encourage residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, assisting as needed.
- Provide opportunities for self-expression and enhanced self-esteem through individual or small group interactions.
Requirements
- Experience with dementia residents is required.
- Must have a clean background to work with seniors.
