About the position

The Center Store Lead at Food Lion is responsible for assisting the Center Store (Grocery) Manager in delivering quality customer service and maintaining operational standards within the grocery department. This role emphasizes maximizing sales through excellent customer service while minimizing shrinkage through adherence to company policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Center Store (Grocery) Manager in providing quality customer service.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Ensure the Center Store Associates maintain a clean and neat appearance.
• Assist in training, scheduling, and maintaining a qualified stock crew.
• Ensure achievement of productivity goals for the stock crew.
• Stock products according to policies and guidelines.
• Maintain shelf allocations as indicated by item tags.
• Ensure compliance with ordering, receiving, preparation, and displaying of merchandise according to guidelines.
• Understand and use company tools such as average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO).
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Report all associate and customer accidents according to established procedures.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform and adhere to the dress code.
• Complete required training courses and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
