About the position

The Community Outreach Coordinator at Kavod Senior Life plays a vital role in promoting the organization and its services to older adults in the community. This position focuses on managing the Kavod on the Road program, which includes developing, coordinating, and promoting various recreational, cultural, physical, and educational programs. The coordinator will work closely with external stakeholders and community partners to enhance the outreach efforts and ensure the engagement of older adults in meaningful activities.

Responsibilities

• Leads the development, coordination, and promotion of community-accessible educational, social, and entertaining programs and activities.
• Establishes and renews partnerships with area synagogues, community centers, and other organizations to serve older adults.
• Collaborates with internal and external partners to implement programs.
• Encourages participation and engagement of older community members in outreach activities.
• Coordinates Kavod on the Road publications and ensures timely delivery of materials.
• Leads and coordinates an annual educational conference for older adults, including site selection and workshop coordination.
• Promotes a positive image of Kavod Senior Life in the community and serves as an ambassador.
• Participates in community meetings to develop and implement new programming.
• Works with the Life Enrichment Department for program coordination and transportation needs.
• Attends networking events to promote the organization and outreach program.

Requirements

• Experience in coordinating activities/programs and working with diverse groups.
• Computer skills including database management and word processing.
• Basic knowledge of Jewish customs and holidays.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Enjoys working with older adults and is self-directed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in marketing or community outreach.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
• Event planning experience.
