About The Position

As a Full-Time Produce Sales Associate at Food Lion, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service within the Produce Department. You will be tasked with maintaining high standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, which includes maximizing sales through excellent customer service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practices. Your role is crucial in creating a positive shopping experience for customers by ensuring that the department is well-stocked, organized, and compliant with all safety and health regulations. You will maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness, emphasizing fast, friendly, and accurate service. This includes being courteous and helpful to fellow associates and ensuring that all aspects of ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise are executed according to company policies and guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for unloading trucks for the Produce Department and utilizing company tools such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and the ordering system (CAO). Understanding and adhering to Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines is essential in this role. You will be expected to observe and correct any unsafe conditions that could lead to accidents for associates or customers. Reporting any accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty is also part of your responsibilities. You will wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with an apron and name badge, and maintain a neat and clean appearance while adhering to the Food Lion dress code. Completing all required training, including Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses, is necessary to ensure you are well-prepared for your duties. Finally, you will perform all other duties as assigned by management.
