About the position

People Making Progress (PMP) is seeking dedicated individuals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their homes and communities. The positions available include both full-time and part-time roles, focusing on providing assistance while promoting independence among participants. The role involves working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to ensure participants receive the support they need for daily activities and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support participants in their homes and in the community.
• Assist individuals with preparing dinner and getting ready for the next day.
• Facilitate weekend community activities and social events.
• Provide support for evening activities and ensure safety during tasks.
• Engage with participants to promote independence rather than performing tasks for them.

Requirements

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities for at least 1 year.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a similar support role is preferred.
