We are looking for a Head of Asset Allocation Models Investment Strategy/Solutions Portfolio Manager (SPM) to join our FTIS Client Investment Solutions team based in the United States. The SPM will be responsible for working with distribution channels and research on investment solutions-related opportunities across the client spectrum with a focus on Asset Allocation Models. Equipped with a deep understanding of the model marketplace, the SPM will draw on a broad suite of investment capabilities managed by Franklin Templeton to grow the AUM of our Asset Allocation Model Platform through development and delivery of innovative investment solutions. Investment solutions may be standardized or customized, with varying degrees of complexity. Reporting to the Head of Advisory Solutions, the SPM will be an integrated member of the FTIS Advisory Channel and will function as an organizational advocate and subject matter expert providing perspective, market intelligence, and guidance on investment solutions to internal distribution and external client counterparts. The role involves partnering with Distribution leadership to gain alignment on new client opportunities and sales support strategy, advocating for sales focus, and providing rationale for platforms with best opportunities. The SPM will also lead the development and growth of our AA Models platform, meeting with key decision makers at existing clients/prospects to represent investment capabilities of FTIS and collaborating with the Portfolio Management team to determine the most appropriate portfolio structure given client and marketplace objectives and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Distribution leadership to gain alignment on new client opportunities and sales support strategy.
  • Advocate for sales focus and provide rationale for platforms with best opportunities.
  • Partner with National Account Managers to identify best opportunities to increase platform participation.
  • Educate home office firms on FTIS multi-asset models offering.
  • Lead the development and growth of our AA Models platform.
  • Meet with key decision makers at existing clients/prospects to represent investment capabilities of FTIS.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management team to determine the most appropriate portfolio structure given client and marketplace objectives and guidelines.
  • Provide advice and insights in connection with market/industry trends.
  • Coordinate with internal partners on product launches, prospecting, and home office/client engagements.
  • Partner closely with operational teams to manage the multi-asset model's product offering.
  • Work with Marketing to enhance promotional support and value add collateral support of business line.
  • Ensure business can respond effectively to sponsor firm RFP/RFIs and on-going due diligence requests.
  • Deliver presentations at industry conferences and seminars.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing materials and content to represent FTIS appropriately.

Requirements

  • BA required, MBA or advanced degree in related field preferred.
  • CFA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience, and experience working with Asset Allocation Model Portfolios.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensing required.
  • Prior experience at asset manager, investment platform, or RIA.
  • Understanding of needs and use cases of US Financial Advisors.
  • Experience with face-to-face client interaction.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to articulate complex topics internally and externally.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and have exceptional time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing and managing investment solutions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the financial services industry.
