About the position
The Fuel and Ash Handler II at WIN Waste Innovations is responsible for monitoring and operating auxiliary equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role involves performing maintenance and minor repairs on ash handling and other auxiliary systems, as well as engaging in various physical tasks to support facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and operate light mobile equipment such as forklifts and sweepers to support facility operations.
- Handle materials including ash, residue, and metals, and load trucks for shipment as required.
- Support facility outages through boiler cleaning and maintenance of APC equipment ducts and conveyors.
- Perform routine mechanical tasks such as opening equipment access doors and operating power tools for minor repairs.
- Conduct light maintenance tasks including plumbing, masonry, and carpentry using manual and power hand tools.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly at all times.
- Shovel loose materials into machine hoppers or vehicles as needed.
- Assist with plant housekeeping and painting tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
