About the position

The Fuel Facility Manager at Menzies Aviation is responsible for overseeing the operational duties at the Fuel Facility and Hydrant System at the airport. This role requires compliance with Menzies Aviation's Attendance, Tardiness, and Code of Conduct Standards. The manager will perform routine and periodic inspections and maintenance in accordance with company, customer, and government standards. They will be responsible for making required log entries regarding quality control and maintenance discrepancies, tracking their statuses, and planning for their closeout within the maintenance database. Coordination with the supervisor or operator on-duty is essential to ensure they are informed about the start, stop, and status of ongoing repairs at the fuel facility. Safety is a paramount concern in this role. The Fuel Facility Manager must conduct all work in a safe manner, adhering to all relevant safety policies and procedures. They are expected to be present for shift turnover briefings and conduct frequent facility walk-throughs to identify any additional discrepancies not noted during operator inspections. The management reserves the right to assign miscellaneous tasks as needed, including backfilling facility operators when necessary. Completing all training requirements in a timely manner is also a critical aspect of this position. In terms of safety, security, and compliance, all employees, including the Fuel Facility Manager, have a responsibility to take reasonable care for their own health and safety as well as that of others. They must be well-versed in International Aviation Safety and Security standards and actively promote these standards within the organization. Reporting any hazards, near misses, incidents, or dangerous occurrences to their supervisor is essential to maintain a safe working environment. The manager must also attend training courses arranged by the company to stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operational duties at the Fuel Facility/Hydrant System.
  • Comply with Menzies Aviation Attendance/Tardiness/Code of Conduct Standards.
  • Conduct routine and periodic inspections and maintenance in compliance with standards.
  • Make required log entries of quality control and maintenance discrepancies.
  • Coordinate maintenance tasks with the supervisor or operator on-duty.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend shift turnover briefings at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Conduct frequent facility walk-throughs to identify discrepancies.
  • Complete all training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, or dangerous occurrences.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in hydraulics, industrial electricity, and pneumatics; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of equipment used in the operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and schematics.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, inventories, and flow rates.
  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Possess/maintain a valid driver's license and other FAA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations.
  • Prior Aircraft Fueling experience required.
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively and working in all weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior management, supervisory or lead experience in the Aviation industry preferred.
  • 40-Hour HAZMAT Certification.
  • OSHA Train the Trainer certification.
  • Incident Commander Certified.
