About the position

The Fuel Storage Tank Construction Apprentice position at TAIT involves training for the Construction department, focusing on environmental compliance in the petroleum industry. The apprentice will learn to test, maintain, repair, and install refueling equipment while working closely with trainers to develop skills in troubleshooting and documentation. This role emphasizes a supportive work environment and offers opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Complete required training classes, both in person and online, to obtain position required certifications.
• Complete and obtain 24-hour HAZWOPER certificate during initial 4-week training program.
• Attend training classes, both in person and online, to obtain required certifications.
• Learn to diagnose and perform repairs on UST & AST systems by assisting Foreman while on site.
• Learn how to fill out project associated paperwork.
• Learn how to enter inspection data / associated paperwork into online web-based data collection systems using a company laptop.
• Use a computer to input timecards and work orders daily.
• When necessary, drive the company work truck to client job sites.
• Perform all work safely according to company and client job safety requirements.

Requirements

• Valid & current Driver's License and ability to drive extensively up to 1,000 miles per week.
• Experience working with general handheld tools (pipe wrenches, pipe threader, voltmeter, etc.)
• Organization and scheduling skills.
• Previous experience with laptop/ computer and printer along with experience using email, and Microsoft programs.

• Experience reviewing and interpreting reports and documents.
• Ability to work effectively & professionally with team & clients.
