About the position

The Fuel Supply Analyst position at Penske Truck Leasing supports the Energy and Fuel Supply department by analyzing fuel pricing and managing the accounting cycle for fuel purchases. This role involves data preparation for both internal and external customers, ensuring accurate pricing contracts, and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The position is based at the corporate offices in Reading, PA, offering a convenient commute and ample parking.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and control pricing contracts for fuel.
  • Distribute best buy costs for fuel to customers and locations.
  • Identify secondary suppliers and establish relationships with these vendors.
  • Oversee winter additive compliance testing program and ensure quality issues are addressed.
  • Maintain and recommend throughput forecasts for supply balance during vendor calls.
  • Address contract vs invoice price discrepancies when escalated by fuel settlement.
  • Maintain intranet information on fuel.
  • Coordinate setting up new vendors for fuel and DEF suppliers and carriers.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and create dashboards as requested.
  • Manage escalation for backup supply issues and fuel allocation.
  • Update AS400 winter additive cost.
  • Perform market surveys for DEF pricing.
  • Add and delete new locations in the fuel location master.
  • Set up bulk fuel customers.
  • Assist in managing the Comdata fuel card program.
  • Answer ad hoc fuel card inquiries from customers and field operations.
  • Update intranet information regarding the fuel card program.
  • Assist in fuel card project rollouts and testing.
  • Reconcile fuel card payments from providers and truck stop companies.
  • Maintain truck stop files and fuel service online directory.
  • Produce, publish, and maintain specialized petroleum reports including price maintenance files and various supply performance reports.
  • Utilize DTN, TelaPoint, AS400, ProphetX, Access, Excel, and Word for information extraction and analysis.
  • Develop and automate customer KPI dashboards within Qlikview.
  • Implement Market-Based Pricing and manage fuel price exceptions for all PTL full-service fuel locations.
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting as required by the Fuel Team and external customers.
  • Interpret complex requests from customers through investigation and follow-up.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of accounting or analytical on-the-job experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage highly detailed information and change priorities quickly.
  • Superb listening and communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs such as Excel, Word, and Access required.
  • Ability to quickly understand outside vendors' user types.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the petroleum industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with fuel card programs and reconciliation processes.
