About the position

The Fuel Technician position at Christensen Inc. involves working primarily in commercial and industrial settings to repair fuel and oil pumps and equipment. The role includes installing petroleum pipes, fitting out fuel tanks, and installing fuel monitoring systems. The technician will work in teams, learn about various systems, and lead others in completing tasks while adhering to strict safety guidelines due to the nature of the work involving chemicals and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair fuel systems including gas station dispensers, card readers, sump work, and underground tanks.
• Diagnose issues with fuel equipment and complete maintenance checklists.
• Install and repair lubrication equipment, including above ground tanks and pumps.
• Install air systems and plumbing for compressors and hose outlets.
• Install and maintain fuel monitoring systems in tanks.
• Handle chemicals and ensure proper disposal according to safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with the service team to meet customer service needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Pass a drug screen
• Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and around hazardous materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with threading pipe
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Experience operating a 26000lb vehicle with a trailer
• Experience operating a crane
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Efficient mindset to minimize movement and contact.
