About the position

The Fuels Specialist (Controller) position at NAVSUP FLC Pearl Harbor involves overseeing the maintenance and operation of complex fuel distribution systems. The role is critical for ensuring safety and compliance with federal regulations in fuel management, including the development of procedures and safety plans. The position requires a strong understanding of fuel systems and the ability to administer safety programs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of complex fuel distribution systems.
• Develop procedures and safety plans for fuel management.
• Administer the car seal program to ensure valves and components are maintained correctly.
• Maintain and administer the Lockout Tagout (LOTO) program to ensure safety procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Knowledge of planning maintenance of fuel and non-fuel facilities.
• Experience in fuel system maintenance and procedures to ensure operational requirements are met.
• Knowledge of potential hazards dealing with fuel and fuel systems/equipment.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
