The Outbound Planning Manager (L18 Program Mgr Sr) will play a critical role within the Supply Chain Planning team, focusing on the monthly and weekly cadence of planning JWN fulfillment volumes, particularly in relation to Supply Chain Fulfillment Centers. This position will require cross-functional engagement and upstream stakeholder management to drive aligned operational plans across various banners and fulfillment channels. The monthly planning runs will necessitate hands-on modeling knowledge to achieve day-level accuracy in the near term, alongside collaboration with Data Science resources for ongoing model development. In addition to managing and improving current planning capabilities, the Outbound Planning Manager will be responsible for defining and shaping future capabilities in partnership with Product Management. This role demands strong data analytics skills, a pragmatic attitude, and the ability to drive decisions effectively. The Outbound Planning Manager is expected to balance ongoing planning activities with one-off analyses and recommendations to support executive decisions. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as this role involves directly driving analysis and shaping the efforts of partner teams to achieve impactful business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Demand, Fulfillment, or Labor Planning within the Retail industry, as well as exposure to the implementation of new planning platforms. Daily responsibilities will include analyzing prior week/day plan variances to identify root causes, developing new models to inform planning assumptions, meeting with stakeholders to understand business levers, reviewing Data Science outputs, providing user requirements to Product Management, coaching junior team members, supporting weekly business rhythms for operational executive leadership, executing ad-hoc analyses, and establishing quarterly priorities to drive improved planning outcomes.
