About the position

The Full Charge Bookkeeper position at Robert Half is a contract-to-permanent role based in Charleston, South Carolina. This role is essential within the CPA Firm - Business Management industry, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position requires a proactive approach to financial management and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
  • Execute financial analysis, develop appropriate remedial recommendations, and report to management ensuring the integrity of the accounting information by verifying and consolidating activities.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
  • Administer the accurate and timely production of relevant financial reports.
  • Oversee the preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis and propose corrective actions if necessary.
  • Perform month-end activities and create monthly financial statements.
  • Utilize accounting software systems and tools like Microsoft Excel and Great Plains (GPAC) to streamline accounting functions.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Work closely with team members to assist with functions and complete special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experienced with ADP - Financial Services
  • Skilled in using Computerized Accounting Systems
  • Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Able to perform all Accounting Functions
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Capable of preparing an Annual Budget
  • Skilled in Cash Flow Analysis
