About the position

The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for day-to-day accounting and monthly reporting for a portfolio of multifamily housing and commercial properties. This role requires managing full cycle accounting duties, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial statement reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in property management accounting and familiarity with AppFolio software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle accounting duties through the trial balance.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Process employee timesheets and payroll.
  • Administer employee benefit plans.
  • Prepare financial statement reports.
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain bank account balances.
  • Prepare budgets and maintain internal controls.
  • Prepare year-end work papers and collaborate with auditors.
  • Maintain the general ledger and post adjustments.
  • Prepare tenant CAM, tax, and insurance reconciliation billings.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years' experience in accounting, preferably in property management.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and computer skills.
  • Highly organized.
