About the position

Keen Medical Group is seeking a Full Time/Part Time Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with experience in Pediatric and/or Urgent Care. The FNP will work under the supervision of a Physician or Medical Director, providing care in an Urgent Care/Family Practice setting. Responsibilities include performing physical exams, treating various conditions, and creating patient care plans, all while ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with medical regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and treat urgent, common episodic and chronic conditions.
• Obtain comprehensive history & physical, assess and evaluate new and established patients' conditions.
• Perform annual physicals of adults and minors as required.
• Coordinate patient treatment plans using evidence-based clinical decision making.
• Document patients' conditions, symptoms, and complaints using EMR software, ensuring daily completion of charts.
• Order and review lab and diagnostic tests, discussing results with patients in coordination with the supervising physician.
• Implement care and medication plans along with expected outcomes for patients in coordination with the supervising physician.
• Provide medical management, patient training, and education on disease control and preventive care.
• Screen patients for severity of illness and determine necessary diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Refer patients requiring mental health services to appropriate providers and facilities.
• Ensure confidentiality of patients' health issues in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Respond to patient and pharmacy prescription inquiries and facilitate medication refills.
• Assist in office and ambulatory setting diagnostic testing of patients.
• Ensure services are properly recorded for timely billing of claims.
• Assist with quality and clinical improvements related to family practice and preventive care.

Requirements

• Current, valid license as a Family Nurse Practitioner with no restrictions.
• Two years clinical experience in family practice, general practice, urgent care, internal medicine, or equivalent experience.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree (MSN).
• Current CA state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Current DEA License.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification as an Ambulatory Care Nurse Practitioner preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
• AANP or ANCC Certification preferred but not required.
