The Holiday Cashier/Intake Clerk position at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift & Furniture Store is a vital role focused on customer service and donation processing. Employees will work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment, contributing to the community through their work. The role involves cashier duties, assisting customers, stocking shelves, and managing incoming donations, ensuring a clean and organized retail space.
Responsibilities
- Process housewares, furniture, and clothing donations for sale in the thrift store.
- Meet daily production goals for pricing merchandise.
- Inspect, clean, price, and stock merchandise for sale in the store.
- Expedite and organize donated merchandise.
- Perform cashier duties and stock merchandise on the sales floor.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Merchandise, color price rotation, and culling.
Requirements
- Retail experience as a sales clerk and/or cashier preferred but will train the right candidate.
- Previous donation processing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of collectibles and antiques is preferred but not required.
- Able to stand and bend for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently.
- Punctual and willing/able to work required shifts consistently.
- Able to deal with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
Nice-to-haves
- Product/endcap merchandising experience is a plus.
