About the position

The Holiday Cashier/Intake Clerk position at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift & Furniture Store is a vital role focused on customer service and donation processing. Employees will work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment, contributing to the community through their work. The role involves cashier duties, assisting customers, stocking shelves, and managing incoming donations, ensuring a clean and organized retail space.

Responsibilities

  • Process housewares, furniture, and clothing donations for sale in the thrift store.
  • Meet daily production goals for pricing merchandise.
  • Inspect, clean, price, and stock merchandise for sale in the store.
  • Expedite and organize donated merchandise.
  • Perform cashier duties and stock merchandise on the sales floor.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Merchandise, color price rotation, and culling.

Requirements

  • Retail experience as a sales clerk and/or cashier preferred but will train the right candidate.
  • Previous donation processing experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of collectibles and antiques is preferred but not required.
  • Able to stand and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Punctual and willing/able to work required shifts consistently.
  • Able to deal with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Product/endcap merchandising experience is a plus.
