Full Stack Developer, Advisory Board - Remote

This role is supporting Optum's Research arm, Advisory Board. The Advisory Board is a best practice research firm that was acquired by Optum in 2017. For 40+ years, Advisory Board research has been the health care industry's guiding light, bringing our provider and service provider members closer to best practice performance. In this position within Advisory Board's technology organization, you will design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise ready data applications and products to support the Advisory Board's data and analytics research technology projects. This person will need to develop a deep understanding of the existing technological stack and develop solid relationships with developers and analysts. The position will play a critical role in all data technology initiatives as we continue this amazing journey of modernizing and innovating our data and technology ecosystem in support of our new and exciting business transformation.

Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven web application in ASP.NET, Rust, C# and ReactJS etc.
• Work on full stack software development including requirement gathering, application design and development, database management etc.
• Work with the team to prioritize, diagnose and troubleshoot production issues, meeting, or exceeding Service Level Agreements
• Handle occasional data updates for software applications by modifying, automating, and running pipelines. Perform appropriate testing to make sure updates are successfully applied to different application environments
• Conduct code reviews to ensure the work delivered by the team is of high-quality standards
• Participate in the Agile/Scrum process
• Mentor junior developers and provide feedback
• Work with internal teams to develop insights and analysis relevant to creating and utilizing software frameworks, applications to meet the business needs
• Provide support for Cloud Infrastructure including managing different modules, storage, CI/CD pipelines etc.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant professional work experience in C#/.NET and MVC
• Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Proven experience in analytics with problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Working experience with Cloud Native Technologies (AWS, Azure or equivalent)
• Experience with relational databases, including Postgres, SQL Server, Redshift, etc.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries
• Tech stack experience in all of the following: C#, .NET, MVC, React, AWS/Azure, SQL, GitHub, Node
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular JS, etc.
