About the position

The Full Stack Developer position at WisEngineering involves designing, developing, and implementing web applications in support of Department of Defense programs. The role requires a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end development, particularly with Node.js and Java technologies, and is focused on delivering high-quality software solutions in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using JavaScript frameworks like Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) to create responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side logic using Node.js, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Design and interact with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and perform thorough debugging to ensure code quality and application stability.
• Work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers in an agile environment.
• Analyze and resolve technical challenges, identify and implement solutions.
• Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and participate in code reviews.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in web development.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in Java Node.js full stack development.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and object-oriented principles.
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot framework for building web applications.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Understanding of testing methodologies and experience with unit testing and integration testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
