About the position

SS&C is seeking a Full Stack Developer (MEAN) to join our dynamic team in a hybrid work environment based in Massachusetts. This role is integral to the development of our web-based Aloha application, which focuses on Portfolio Management, Trading, Analytics, and Investment Accounting. As a Full Stack Developer, you will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with the Product team to understand requirements and business specifications. Your expertise in Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS will be crucial as you write code in a Node.JS environment, utilizing a MongoDB data store. In this position, you will be part of a larger Scrum development team, driving innovation and enhancing the Aloha application. You will participate in sprint meetings to define and analyze development requirements, providing work breakdowns and estimates. Your contributions will include creating, enhancing, and maintaining RESTful APIs using Nest.JS and MongoDB, as well as collaborating with stakeholders, users, QA, and other development partners. You will also be responsible for bug fixing and improving application performance, ensuring that the application is complete, tested, performant, and well-documented. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owners to develop the web-based Aloha application
• Write complete, tested, performant, and documented Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Create, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs using Nest.JS and MongoDB
• Collaborate with stakeholders, users, build teams, QA, and other development partners
• Participate actively in discussions, presentations and decisions about front-end and API development
• Implement new technologies to maximize application performance
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of front-end development experience
• 1+ years of Angular development experience
• Understanding of MEAN application technology stack
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
• Experience with Angular 2+ frameworks
• Proficiency in MongoDB, HTML 5, CSS, Webpack, Babel, NPM, JSON, Bootstrap
• Familiarity with CSS pre-compilers (like Sass and LESS)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and Git
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration using Jenkins
• Knowledge of Docker is desirable but not necessary
• Excellent conceptual and critical thinking capabilities
• Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to take charge or play a supporting role
• Strong understanding of product development
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English, including presentation skills
