About the position

The Sr. Software Engineer will lead the HR Technology development group for a major tech entertainment client in Los Angeles. This role involves building middleware for chatbots, integrating machine learning services, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to enhance existing systems. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Build middleware for chatbots, writing custom code to integrate with ML services (e.g., Slack messages)
• Work closely with the product and engineering teams to integrate chatbot solutions into existing systems
• Conduct regular testing and debugging to ensure chatbot functionality and update as necessary
• Write tests and deploy code efficiently and from scratch
• Architect larger applications and delegate tasks effectively to junior team members
• Enable the chatbot to make changes for employees and build automations within Workday.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong hands-on experience (3-5+ years) with React, Node.js, JavaScript, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and design concepts
• Ability to work independently without existing infrastructure or support
• Proven track record of building applications from scratch
• Utilize APIs with tools such as Workday, Jira, and Confluence.
