About the position

The Full Stack Developer at Saint Louis University is responsible for the design and direct coding of applications aimed at solving problems in the humanities. This role involves collaboration with global partners and requires expertise in both front-end and back-end development, ensuring compliance with various standards.

Responsibilities

• Project design and direct coding of applications for clients.
• Develop software applications to solve problems in the humanities.
• Standards compliance and cooperation with Web Annotation, JSONid, Rest, IIIF.
• Back-end coding including database connections with Java, MongoDB, and SQL.
• Middle end coding involving API development and scripting languages.
• Front end coding using HTML, CSS, Java, PHP.
• Research and analysis of current front end scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, NodeJS, AngularJS, JQuery, and PHP.
• Research and analysis of current database modeling and standards.
• Proof of concept and prototyping of project software.
• Internal communication with Center staff and external communication with clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science.
• Two to five years of experience in application production.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with server operating systems and shell scripting (Windows, RedHat Linux, Ubuntu).
• Familiarity with best practices in web annotation and standards compliance.
