About the position

The position involves project design and direct coding of applications for clients, focusing on developing software applications that address problems in the humanities. The role requires interaction with global partners and emphasizes compliance with various standards in web development and coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Standards compliance and cooperation (Web Annotation, JSONid, Rest, IIIF)
• Back-end coding (database connections with Java, MongoDB, and SQL)
• Middle end coding (API development, scripting languages, http/https)
• Server operating system and shell scripting (Windows, RedHat Linux, Ubuntu)
• Front end coding (html, css, java, php)
• Research and analysis of current front end scripting languages (javascript, python, nodeJS, angularJS, JQuery, php)
• Research and analysis of current database modeling and standards (MongoDB, SQL)
• Proof of concept and prototyping of project software
• Internal communication with Center staff, and external communication with clients (faculty, students, other institutions)
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science
• Two to five years experience in application production
