We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia to support the ongoing modernization and maintenance systems for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program. Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. This is a highly technical position; individuals will be screened by peers in a technical review of skills and experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on development experience using Java JEE.
• Hands-on experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML and JSON.
• Experience with SQL.
• Knowledge of jQuery, JSTL, Struts Taglibs.
• Familiarity with JEE Web Tier Technologies (Servlets, Struts2).
• Experience with EJBS, JMS, Kafka.
• Knowledge of Web services (SOAP and Restful).
• Experience with Unix/ Linux.
• JEE Server experience (WebLogic, WebSphere etc.).
• Database Connectivity (JDBC, JPA, Hibernate).

Nice To Haves

• Any related systems engineering, or related technical certifications are desired.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of JEE software applications.
• Use modern software engineering tools and methodologies including Eclipse, WebSphere, Hibernate, Struts2, and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence).
• Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, elicit feedback and refine solutions through demonstrations.
• Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology.
