About the position

As a Full Stack Java Developer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in enhancing national safety and security through innovative software solutions. This position involves collaborating with a team to design and develop user-friendly applications that meet the unique needs of clients, ensuring optimal performance across various devices. Your expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies will be essential in delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop user interfaces with a focus on functionality and aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with Back-End Developers and Data Engineers to optimize website performance.
  • Translate software requirements into maintainable solutions within existing frameworks.
  • Implement the product lifecycle including design, development, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to team performance improvement and collaboration.
  • Adhere to best practices for application development.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Java, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as ReactJS, TypeScript, and responsive design.
  • Knowledge of back-end technologies including Microservices, REST, Node.js, and Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate).
  • Experience with databases like Postgres and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Git.
  • Documented experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD routines.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Angular and Salesforce for front-end development.
  • Familiarity with AWS services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong skills in RDBMS schema design and SQL development.
