About the position

BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Java Developer for a contract position in Jersey City, NJ. The role involves developing web applications using Java and Spring, with a focus on UI/UX design and REST API development. The position is hybrid, requiring both onsite and remote work, and is expected to last for 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop web applications using Java and Spring frameworks.
• Create Single Page Applications (SPAs) and reusable component libraries using ReactJS.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and web services.
• Utilize build tools and processes such as Maven and Ant.
• Implement CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins and Ansible Tower.
• Conduct unit testing using Junit and ensure code quality.
• Collaborate in an Agile development environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant IT development experience.
• 4+ years of web development experience with Java and Spring.
• 4+ years of experience in UI/UX development (HTML5, CSS3, React JS, jQuery, Node.js).
• Expertise in React JS framework for developing SPAs and custom components.
• Basic SQL knowledge and experience with RDBMS (preferably SQL Server).
• Experience in building REST APIs and web services.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of XML & JSON schema and processing technologies.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, SVN).
• Experience with build automation tools.
