About the position
As a Full Stack Java Developer at POLARIS Laboratories, you will be part of the Application Engineering team, focusing on building and supporting Java and JavaScript applications. This role involves developing internal and customer-facing applications that deliver reliability information about the company's products. The team operates in a fast-paced environment, engaging in a long-term digital transformation with a focus on solving data-rich business challenges. You will be expected to collaborate effectively within a small team culture, delivering high-quality code and participating in Agile-Scrum workflows.
Responsibilities
- Deliver code to implement business features, fix identified issues, or improve the software.
- Write unit and integration tests.
- Follow team coding workflow to deliver code, issue pull requests, participate in code reviews, and deploy code to target environments.
- Triage problems in deployed environments.
- Participate in Agile-Scrum project workflow and team rhythms, including daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, demos, and planning.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in related technical disciplines or equivalent real-world experience.
- 10 years or more of real-world experience with Apache/JBoss/Java frameworks.
- Experience with Restful APIs using JSON and integrating with other systems (via CSV files, message queues, or API calls).
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as Apache Wicket and Velocity.
- Familiarity with Quarkus, ActiveMQ, SOAP, and Jasperreports.
- Comfortable with HTML and CSS.
- Comfortable with Git.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in other programming languages (not Java) or building only static sites will not be considered for this role.
