About the position

Insight Global's client within the Healthcare Software industry is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to join their team remotely in the US, specifically within the Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Central Standard Time (CST) zones. This position is expected to last through the end of the year, with the possibility of extensions based on project needs. The primary focus of this role will be on backend development, which will account for approximately 80% of the work, utilizing Java 11. The frontend development will primarily involve working with React.js and Angular. The developer will be responsible for supporting three applications that are at different phases in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). A strong background in AWS cloud environments is essential for success in this role, as the developer will be expected to leverage various AWS services to enhance application performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services primarily using Java 11.
  • Implement frontend features using React.js and Angular.
  • Support and enhance three applications at different stages of the SDLC.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Build and deploy microservices from scratch.
  • Utilize AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Docker for application deployment and management.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Java development, specifically versions 11 or higher.
  • Experience with Node.js for backend development.
  • Strong skills in frontend technologies including React.js and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with UI design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL, and Redshift.
  • Strong experience with AWS, including Terraform, EC2 instances, and S3 buckets.
  • Experience with Docker for containerization.
  • Proven experience in building microservices from scratch, preferably in the healthcare domain.
  • Knowledge of FHIR standards is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with healthcare applications, particularly with Florida Blue.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
