About the position

The Full Stack Java Developer role at a global bank in Jersey City, NJ, is a contract position with a strong possibility of extension. This position involves working in a hybrid schedule, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week. The role is designed for experienced developers who will collaborate with management teams to enhance system functions and deploy new products, while also resolving complex business and system processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.
  • Identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
  • Resolve a variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming, ensuring application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in apps development or systems analysis role.
  • Experience as a Full Stack Developer with Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with REST, JMS, SOAP, and Microservices.
  • Hands-on role requiring daily coding.
  • Experience with at least one Messaging System: Kafka, Tibco, IBM MQ, etc.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and ability to write shell & batch programs.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Knowledge of Threading, Collections, Exception Handling, JDBC, Java OOD/OOP Concepts, GoF Design Patterns, File I/O.
  • Ability to work with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools.
  • Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Applications Development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial services experience.
  • Experience with Swagger, Tomcat, and JSON and XML processing.
