About the position

The Full Stack Javascript Developer position at Primary Talent Partners is a contract role that requires a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in software development, particularly in JavaScript. This role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite in Chesterfield, and is expected to last for six months with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end technologies, with a focus on JavaScript, Node.js, and React.js. Candidates must possess a minimum of eight years of experience in software development, with at least five years specifically in React.js and PostgreSQL. The role demands proficiency in AWS services, particularly Lambdas, S3, SQS, SNS, and Kafka, as well as a solid understanding of cloud-based environments. The developer will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code and building highly scalable REST APIs. In addition to technical skills, the candidate should be product-oriented, capable of collaborating with product experts to suggest improvements and pragmatic solutions. Experience in agile methodologies and the ability to work flexibly with a global team across different time zones are also essential. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full stack applications using JavaScript, Node.js, and React.js.
• Design and implement scalable REST APIs hosted in a cloud environment.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following best practices and local guidelines.
• Collaborate with product experts to suggest improvements and pragmatic solutions based on business needs.
• Participate in unit testing using Jest and react-testing-library to ensure code quality.
• Work with front-end web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Design and manage databases in PostgreSQL, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Engage in agile development processes, contributing to team meetings and sprint planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a JavaScript full stack developer.
• Strong experience in React.js (5+ years) and Node.js (8+ years).
• Proficiency in AWS services (4+ years), including Lambdas, S3, SQS, SNS, and Kafka.
• Experience with PostgreSQL (5+ years) and designing databases.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
• Experience in building highly scalable REST APIs in a cloud environment.
• Familiarity with front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to development.

• Experience with Typescript is a plus.
