About the position

As a Full Stack Senior Java Developer at GDIT, you will be responsible for delivering simple solutions to complex problems while being fully immersed in the client's domain. Your role will involve working on a multi-tier architecture to provide comprehensive health coverage solutions for New Yorkers through the Health Benefit Exchange. You will be part of a talented development team, focusing on building and maintaining scalable and maintainable software using Java/J2EE technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver solutions for complex client needs as a Full Stack Senior Java Developer.
• Build and maintain highly complex, high-volume, large scale, scalable, maintainable, and extensible software on a Java/J2EE application stack.
• Utilize full software development life-cycle (SDLC) methodology from concept, design, and documentation to testing.
• Analyze user/business needs and functionality to plan and assign with the design of software systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field.
• Nine (9) or more years' experience in software development.
• Five (5) years of large scale application experience with solid understanding of Core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, ORM Tools, Java Build tools, Junit testing, and Web Services.
• Two (2) years of Healthcare, Medicaid or Health Exchange experience.
• Ability to write simple and complex SQL Queries, preferably with DB2 SQL syntax including PL/SQL.
• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Health Benefit Exchange systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
