About the position

We are seeking a senior level Full Stack Web Developer to support a high visibility research and development program that builds web applications and services for our nation's warfighters and intelligence communities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop front-end interfaces and create back-end software that directly impacts the lives of our warfighters. You will join a growing team of engineers, scientists, and subject matter experts in Dayton, OH, who are dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our Airmen. As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will work closely with Airmen and subject matter experts to identify the needs and workflows of the operational communities we support. Your responsibilities will include supporting the development of web-based applications, services, interfaces, and data visualizations, with the assistance of human factors professionals to ensure that the operational community needs are met. You will capture requirements, design, develop, and deliver databases that interact with various tools in current and future production. Additionally, you will develop data capture and analysis tools to support the research teams within the group, apply development and testing best practices, and participate in the team's agile development process. You will also act as a mentor for junior software engineers, providing documentation, integration, and training support to users. Responsibilities

• Work with Airmen and subject matter experts to identify needs and workflows of the operational communities we support.
• Support the development of web-based applications, services, interfaces, and data visualizations.
• Capture requirements, design, develop, and deliver databases to interact with various tools in current and future production.
• Develop data capture and analysis tools to support the research teams within the group.
• Apply development and testing best practices.
• Participate in the team's agile development process.
• Act as a mentor for junior software engineers.
• Provide documentation, integration, and training support to users.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer requirements.
• At least a BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 8 years of related development experience.
• Experience with front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, etc.).
• Experience with developing, deploying, and interacting with databases (MongoDB, SQL, etc.).
• Comfortable with version control software (Git) and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
• Experience with unit testing and test-driven design.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work well in team environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with an additional programming language (C++, Python, etc.).
• Experience with deploying software in cloud environments (AWS, PlatformOne, etc.).
• Familiarity with modelling and simulation tools and best practices.
• Familiarity with intelligence data and the collection management process.
• Familiarity with human interface research and technologies.
• An active U.S. DOD security clearance.
