About the position

The Leidos Spatial Solutions team is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to enhance existing Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) code and integrate open-source software solutions for display and analysis within Aeronautical Production Systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective administration and modification of software systems, leveraging cloud computing expertise to deliver high-quality web applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development tasks, demonstrating proficiency across multiple programming languages and frameworks. In this position, the developer will engage in API development and database integration, particularly with React frameworks, while utilizing various open-source packages for data visualization and filtering. The role emphasizes best practices in unit and build testing, ensuring that all code modifications meet the highest standards of quality. The developer will also be tasked with creating and documenting new functionalities within software version control repositories, specifically GitLab, and will apply DevOps principles to facilitate the delivery of new features within an Agile framework. Collaboration is key in this role, as the developer will participate in Agile software development initiatives, including standups and planning sessions, to foster innovation and enhance custom applications through iterative testing and functionality assessments. The position requires a proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying ideas and updates to both team members and clients. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing tasks and ensuring that all work is completed to the required standards.

Responsibilities

  • Modify existing GOTS code and integrate open source software solutions for display in web applications.
  • Develop APIs and integrate databases for interaction with React frameworks.
  • Utilize various open source packages for data visualization and filtering.
  • Apply best practices in unit and build testing for code modifications.
  • Create and document new and existing functionality within software version control repositories (GitLab).
  • Utilize DevOps principles and tools to deliver new features within an Agile construct.
  • Participate in Agile software development initiatives including standup and planning sessions.
  • Collaborate with team members to assess tickets and ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development or integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services).
  • BS degree, or Associates Degree with 4-8 years experience, or Masters degree with 2-6 years of experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with modern JavaScript and/or C# development frameworks.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with REACT.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with unit testing, continuous integration tools, and GitLab version control.
  • Proactive self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 2 years of experience with Linux and/or Windows system administration.
  • At least 2 years of experience with DoD Aeronautical Datasets.
  • At least 3 years of experience with AWS cloud formation templates.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Node, NPM, Swashbuckle, REST API, Sass.
  • AWS Solutions or DevOps certification.
  • Experience with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
