About the position

The Full Stack Software Developer Intern position at SAS offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in software development within the Health and Life Science team. Interns will engage in meaningful work, collaborating with experienced professionals to design, develop, and implement web-based applications. This role emphasizes learning and growth, allowing interns to contribute to real projects while developing their technical skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members including developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers on ongoing projects.
  • Assist in developing front-end and back-end code for new features and applications, ensuring functionality across various platforms.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and debugging processes, providing innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Engage in learning opportunities to stay updated on new technologies and best practices in full stack development.
  • Contribute ideas and insights during planning sessions for system architecture and application design.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, R, SAS, Golang.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Exposure to web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js for front-end; Express.js, Django for back-end).
  • Basic understanding of Agile methodologies.
