About the position

The Full Stack Software Developer at Spalding Consulting, Inc. is responsible for the research, design, and development of cloud-based IT systems and applications. This role involves applying software development principles to enhance existing capabilities and recommend improvements. The developer will work closely with Agile and DevSecOps teams to support various software-related project functions for the NAVAIR customer, ensuring adherence to coding standards and cyber security regulations.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop cloud-based IT systems/applications.
• Provide product exploration, technology planning, and formulate solutions for product specifications and performance requirements.
• Contribute to software-related project functions supporting Agile and DevSecOps implementation activities.
• Maintain software code and databases within an application area, coordinating development as part of a team.
• Adhere to software coding standards to ensure software quality and cyber security compliance.
• Support daily stand-up meetings and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Experience deploying applications using Cloud Native methodologies and tools such as Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless Functions, and Microservice Architectures.
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and configuration management tools such as Microsoft Azure DevSecOps, Gitlab, Jira, Jama, etc.
• Knowledgeable of REST API, Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, Python, Django, JHipster, jQuery, SQL languages and technologies, ASP.Net Core/Framework.
• Automated Unit, Integration, and Systems testing of components utilizing test behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber, Quantum, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in supporting Red Hat OpenShift and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) applications.
• Experience with Database Management Systems (DBMS) and tools such as Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, Splunk, Teradata, and SQLite.
• Experience with deployment of applications within the NAVAIR hosting environments.
