About the position

The Senior Full Stack Solutions Engineer at MITRE will leverage hands-on expertise to develop, evaluate, and integrate web-based applications for various needs. This role involves leading design, implementation, testing, and documentation of applications while utilizing the right technologies to solve complex technical challenges. The engineer will also prepare and present technical briefings and contribute to shaping the engineering culture at MITRE.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation of applications.
• Choose appropriate technologies to solve complex technical challenges and prototype/integrate web or mobile applications.
• Prepare and present technical briefings for sponsors and communicate work to facilitate collaboration and mentorship.
• Learn from and help shape the engineering culture while keeping pace with current and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to possess/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Typically, 5 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven proficiency with at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
• Demonstrated experience owning and delivering on prototypes or full web/mobile applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• A track record of leading small technical teams.
• Advanced degrees/certifications.
• Existing clearance, agency fitness, or suitability.
• Experience across the entire software lifecycle, from design/architecture to agile development, CI/CD, and support.
• Familiarity with development tools and platforms such as git, Github/Gitlab, Jira, Bitbucket, docker, k8s, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, Azure, etc.
• Deep knowledge of web apps and associated systems, including frameworks, services, APIs, and security.
• Interest in or contributions to open source projects.
