About the position

The WISE Foundation is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer for an unpaid volunteer role. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in web development, focusing on both front-end and back-end applications. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to create high-performance, scalable applications using a variety of technologies, including Next.js, Node.js, React, and AWS. The candidate should have a passion for web technologies and DevOps practices, contributing to the development of user-centric solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize dynamic, responsive web applications using frameworks like Next.js, React, and Angular.
• Develop scalable REST APIs and web services using Node.js and Java, ensuring secure data exchange and robust backend functionality.
• Manage applications on AWS, using services like EC2, S3, and RDS to maintain availability, scalability, and security.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins to automate testing, deployment, and updates across development, staging, and production environments.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues at both the frontend and backend levels, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
• Maintain code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-4 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer with expertise in both front-end and back-end development.
• Proficiency in frontend frameworks and libraries such as Next.js, React, Angular, Tailwind CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
• Experience with backend technologies including Node.js, Java, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, RDS).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools, specifically Jenkins for pipeline automation and release management.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with Python or Bash scripting is a plus.
• Experience in NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, and a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

Nice-to-haves
